This may sound controversial Reader, but hear me out — Hope is NOT the vibe. Stop hoping. (Or at least stop living there.) Here’s why: Because we can get stuck in hope as if it were the destination. And for many women, hope becomes a hiding place. “I hope things get better.” ”I hope this is just a rough patch.” “I hope this relationship changes.” “I hope I stop feeling this way.” “I hope I find myself again.” I’ve learned a lot through grief, loss, healing, reinvention, rising from the ashes like a phoenix and working with women navigating life’s hardest transitions. One of the most powerful of those things is this: Hope is a bridge. Not a home. Because where you actually want to get to in the journey looks like this: Hoping ➝ Believing ➝ Knowing……. Feel that? Hope says: Belief says: Knowing says: The women I work with are incredibly capable, intelligent, and successful; yet many find themselves stuck in seasons where they’re hoping things will change while their subconscious programs of doubt run relentlessly underneath. So there they remain, for weeks, months, and even years — hoping for clarity, a bell to ring, an insight to make the decision or next step crystal clear. They’re hoping for confidence. They’re hoping for the negative recording loop to just magically stop playing on repeat in their head as the background soundtrack to their mornings, to their quiet moments, to their life. They’re hoping to stop feeling anxious. Hoping to feel like themselves again (what even is that? Do I remember what that feels like anymore?) But change doesn’t arrive because you hoped right or hard enough. Harmony, clarity, healing and what you want in life — all arrive when you trust in yourself and love and forgive yourself. The deepest transformations I’ve witnessed—in my own life and in the lives of the women I work with—happen when they stop waiting for certainty and begin rebuilding trust in themselves. Not trust in circumstances. Not trust in other people. Trust in yourself. When you feel safe enough doing so to stop outsourcing your certainty and to stop waiting for permission. …When you start listening to what you already know. Well then, now we’ve got something we can work wonders with, because that’s when hope can become belief. And belief becomes knowing. 🧚🏽♀️ And not because the perfect life fairy just fell out of the sky and finally blessed your life. But because you quit abandoning yourself and giving your power away. If you’re in a season of grief, transition, uncertainty, or reinvention, perhaps the question isn’t: “What am I hoping for?” The better question is: “What do I already know that I’m afraid to admit or to trust?” 🎯 Trust yourself 🤍 Ready to get really skilled and practiced in how? I forgive Reader. I forgive. And it has made me freer than I ever imagined. But forgiveness does not mean that I give indiscriminately anymore. For years, I confused the two. I thought being loving meant endless chances. I thought being compassionate meant endless understanding. I thought being kind meant endless access. It doesn’t. Today I forgive more easily than I ever have. And I am more selective than I have ever been. I forgive Reader. But I don’t ignore patterns. I forgive. But I don’t...
Hi Reader, Today I’m sharing an insight from Dante's Inferno that stopped me in my tracks. In the Inferno, Dante encounters a sinner in Hell whom he knows is still alive on earth. Confused, he asks how this is possible. The sinner explains that after committing treachery, his soul fell straight into Hell while his body remained on earth, animated by something else. That image stopped me in my tracks and helped me understand something I’ve spent decades studying: Not all evil arrives looking...
Sometimes I joke that I have a PhD in Mindfckry Reader. But it’s not a joke. After decades of excruciating (and mind boggling!) personal experiences, education, observation, and working deeply with women navigating narcissistic, manipulative, emotionally confusing, and psychologically destabilizing dynamics… …it’s not a joke. What — and Who — I’ve survived is beyond any classroom or clinical. But it brought me here …to you. One of the hardest things about these relationships is that they...
